What is GMRS Radio?
The General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) is an FCC-licensed radio service that gives you reliable, long-range communication — no cell towers, no internet required. With a single FCC license covering your entire family, GMRS lets you stay connected during emergencies, outdoor adventures, and everyday life across the greater San Antonio region.
SAGMRS is the local community that makes GMRS even better. We maintain a network of repeaters across Bexar County and the surrounding Hill Country, host regular radio nets, and welcome operators of all experience levels.
